OK. Am I nuts? I just signed up for Leslie Seata’s 30 in 30 Challenge to produce 30 paintings in 30 days. (At last count, I’m number 347 out of 361 painters participating.) If you’ve been reading my blog, you know that I am NOT a painting a day painter. So why am I doing this?
It sounds like fun! Always a good reason to do something.
I love a challenge. (This piece brings me up to #48 on my 80 Painting Challenge.)
I’m just starting to work on a new series. This is the perfect opportunity to do what I normally do when I start a new series, but also share it here. Often when I’m starting a new series, I’ll do a bunch of small pieces – experimental pieces and studies to get a feel for the subject and possible approaches. It might be fun to share that part of my process.
30 paintings added to the 47 I have already completed will put me almost at my goal for the year by the end of the month. How cool is that?
My first painting is a collage that I’ve been working on for a few days.
gorgeous!
Thanks so much. I think this is going to be fun.
Hi Ethel, Don’t feel bad about being #347 – I’m #409. I am trying to “catch up” – but really winning the race here isn’t the point, is it. I am finding it very helpful too. The work you’ve posted so far is lovely. – Jim
Thanks, Jim. I really like your post as well. Should be an interesting month.
