Archive for the ‘Artists’ Category

I love the idea of this blog hop I’m involved in. The next step is the answers & a new group of artists from the ones I mentioned last year. Turns out that it’s textile/fabric artists, since Rosemary had to pull out.

You can see Madalene’s post at workingwall.blogspot.com. It’s fun to hear more about her process.

You’ll find Laura’s post at lauramorrisonart.wordpress.com. I’m always happy to hear what Laura is up to. I don’t see her nearly often enough. Love the bunny rabbit illustration!!

Check out these blogs and then look for the next set of blog hops in about another week.

A few days ago, my husband and I had a lovely day checking out Center Sandwich. We visited the Patricia Ladd Carega Gallery. It’s a lovely gallery showing a variety of contemporary art, including prints from printmakers of Peregrine Press. I was particularly drawn to the encaustic monotypes of Sandra Quinn and the monotypes of Liz Prescott. There are some wonderful garden sculptures and some smaller ceramic sculptures. I chose a beautiful ceramic pig by  Wendy Percival.  They have a terrific range of prices, styles, sizes and media. A truly fun place to buy art. (And great taste in food. They sent us to the Corner House Inn for lunch and we checked out Sandwich Creamery on our way home. Both excellent choices.)

We also checked out the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen store, a fiber arts store and Surroundings, another art gallery. The area is beautiful and we lucked out with terrific weather.
